Beijing Year End Performances

A big round of applause for Beijing's year end performances!  Parents were pleased with their children's showcase in "Search the Circus" for the Little Tykes from ages 4 to 6.  Here's one of the characters - Happy, who lost his red nose!

Look out Farmer Giles!  Freddy Fox is coming to steal the chicks! Our beloved Lower Primary play  "The Chicken-Hearted Fox" was performed by the Friday evening LP class. Here comes Freddy Fox!

What is he searching for?  Hmm! Chickens Galore!
Here comes one of our beloved little chicks (below)

Development Through Drama - Jacqueline's experience in Hanoi, Vietnam

Jacqueline Cadger from Scotland UK is a program manager for Helen O'Grady Academy in Hanoi.  She shares her first year experience:

"HOG is a great program! I love that students are able to develop their English in a fun and a refreshing way. The program truly allows students to develop their confidence and social skills. Nothing makes me more proud than seeing our students perform in front of friends and family.  It is wonderful that HOG is being taught in schools and allowing people to see the benefits drama in education can have on a child's development."

An overseas drama teacher's heart warming experience.

Emma Turner is from the UK where she studied Drama BA (Hons) and worked within education and Drama for 6 years before training with HOG UK and teaching in Beijing, China.

Here's Emma's experience in China:

“As a Drama teacher I teach in both our centers and at local schools across Beijing, which means there is a great deal of variety in the role! Some days I teach very large classes and other days I teach much smaller classes. It also requires a lot of travelling which means I get to visit areas of the city that a tourist wouldn't usually.  I  can fully immerse myself in the culture. Teaching in China can be very challenging but also very rewarding. When it gets to production time and the students are onstage performing in a second language and showing how much they have progressed, it is truly a heart warming experience.”

We continue to recruit more teachers for 2014 in Asia.  Contact us at enquiry@helenogradyfranchise.com if you want to be part of this international family!
